Who The Boss The Employee Bible eBook L J Martin Reviews

Customer is the boss! Everyone knows that but rarely some bosses and employees apply that in their job. The author observes the good and the bad in businesses and gives precious advice for business success! Very well written. Whether you own a business or work as an employee, all should grab a copy.
Filled with stories like my dad would tell, this book shows every prospective or current employee the right way to "work" while entertaining. I'm already "stuck" on this author and I had no idea he wrote this type of book...with the same awesome voice he displays in my favorite Tin Angel
If I had any employees, I'd require them to read this book. If I were an employee, I'd require myself to read it regularly. It's excellent! It's short but packed with sage advice, illustrations, and examples. Its topics include attitude, the importance of honesty, proving yourself worthy, the importance of smiling, and the importance of making it easier for the customer. I recommend it without hesitation.
Here is a book that recognizes the most often overlooked truism - the customer is the boss. I am the author of numerous business resources but I really enjoyed this book and it will prove to be an inspiring business resource. L. J. Martin is an author that never fails to deliver concise and accurate information to his readers. I highly recommend this book.
As a business owner who prides herself in giving great service to her clients, I could really relate to this book. The examples of poor customer service, and how they impact the owner's bottom line, were excellent. I was reminded of being in a hotel in Florida and having the breakfast person at the freebie breakfast bar, refuse to go in the back and bring out more yogurt because she had already brought out "enough". I could go on and on (as the author did in his book) but suffice it to say I think the issue of customer service is one that business owners need to tackle head-on. It really does make a difference to consumers.
I really resonated with the stories and examples in this book. As a child growing up in the 50's, I remember when floor walkers(does anyone even know this term at this point?), elevator operators, and a salesperson in every department waiting to serve you were standard in every department store.

In these times of automated phone systems, no responses to email inquiries, long waits in doctors offices, repairmen who show up 2 hours late, and often total indifference by hotel and restaurant staff, you wonder if companies are aware of how they actually make money.

There is a company I've dealt with for over 20 years, and even though I am bombarded with coupons, promises of lower prices and other incentives to switch services, I'll never leave them because their customer service is outstanding.

Customer service should be a major concern of any company. In these times of relaxed indifference, any company that insists on great service will be the company that comes out on top. This is a great little book that I would give to every employee and make required reading before they even start on the job.

If you own a business, even if you are a sole proprietor, you can benefit from reading this book. Recommended.
It is listed as "a primer for success," and it just that, a "primer." He comes at the subject with a sense that the reader might literally know absolutely nothing about being a decent employee. Based upon some of his stories, it certainly does appear that there are some number of employees interacting with customers that have no business in that role! What is even sadder is how many of us may have had similar experiences.

Perhaps the greatest failing of this book is the fact that those who would benefit most from it would not be likely to read it. Those employees who take enough initiative to actually read a book to improve their skills would not likely benefit from the book. It is as though Martin is aiming at an audience that he will not be able to reach with a book. Anyone who knows so little that this book will be a meaningful step forward would not be the type of person that would read the book or bother to pay much attention.

Here's a place this book might be of greatest benefit to young people starting out. Someone just entering the "customer part of business" for the first time might be willing to read. By seeing the stories from the point of view of a customer, that new-to-the-workforce employee might see in Martin's book the simple, self-evident wisdom of conducting oneself thusly.
